The Westshore Wolves closed out their last game of 2021 with a defensive overtime victory over the Victoria Cougars December 16th at the Archie Browning Arena. A great performance in net from 2003 goaltender Benjamin Edwards and a wicked shot in overtime from veteran forward Elijah Goyer propelled the Wolves to their first road win against the cougars this season.

Holding a record of 18-12-2 heading into the back half of the VIJHL season the wolves will look to secure their spot in the playoffs. As it stands right now the Wolves would finish 3rd place in the south behind the aforementioned Cougars and the Peninsula Panthers. But with the Kerry Park Islanders tailing the Wolves in the standings they will have to find ways to win with a busy schedule in which the Wolves play 19 games in a span of 7 weeks to finish off the year.

If you’re looking to catch some great junior hockey action in the new year, the Wolves will be welcoming VIJHL visitors to the Q Centre until the middle of February. Including the two newest VIJHL franchises – Port Alberni Bombers and Lake Cowichan Kraken.

The Wolves would like to wish all fans, players, coaches and staff a Safe and Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing you at the Q.
